Understanding what happens to solar panels after their lifespan is over is important not only for their owners but also for anyone concerned with sustainability and the management of technological waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let\u2019s explore how solar panels evolve after 25 years and what you can do to maximize the value of your investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lifespan and Efficiency of Solar Panels<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Solar panels are known for their exceptional durability, capable of lasting between 25 and 30 years with stable performance. However, this lifespan doesn&#8217;t mean that the panels will stop working completely after that time. In fact, after 30 years, your solar panels will typically still operate at 70-80% of their original capacity. This figure shows that, despite a decrease in performance due to material degradation over time, solar panels can still be a reliable energy source in the long term. The capacity produced will generally decrease to about 532 Wp, or around 80% of the initial capacity. This reduction is due to an annual degradation rate.
